These Images are from a four-year survey of five ranching families in the Great Basin. The primary impetus for gathering this collection was a book with writer Linda Hussa called The Family Ranch: Land, Children, and Tradition in the American West. It was published by University of Nevada Press in 2010.
Of course there are many more images than were used in the book. Here is a sampling.
