Black & white photography is the purest form of exploration in the world of
light and shadow. And somehow the most accessible for emotions. My black &
white work is primarily documentary, where the subject is important and a
story waits in the wings. Of particular interest are people whose lives are
lived in direct contact with the land: ranchers, farmers, field scientists,
hunters, migrant workers.
Since 1990, I have worked collaberatively with my husband, Tupper Ansel
Blake, a wildlife photographer and story teller of the highest calliber, on
large conservation based projects resultings in image libraries, books,
portfolios and exhibitions.
